Amy and Bill Hagner, parents of Jack, grade three, shares why they choose to participate in #GivingTuesdayCSS:
When we drive up to Camphill in the mornings, Jack is always smiling. He leans forward in the back seat and peers intently out his window as we drive through the Children’s Village. When we pass his house, Antanor, he takes notice. We stop at the schoolhouse and watch the kids coming to school. Jack often giggles and always gets excited that it’s almost time for him to join them. He’s happy and willing to put on his shoes and socks by himself in preparation for Nenah to come to the car to get him. Even when it’s raining he is eager to jump out of the car and put on his backpack. Invariably he is calm and smiling when I pick him up in the afternoons.
He’s better at everything since he started in September: communication, interaction, dressing, understanding, and cooperation to name a few. His teacher, Joe, has discovered more about Jack in three months than his old school did in three years. We are beyond grateful that Jack is in the perfect school for Jack. Camphill is a magical place.”
