Joseph and Vivian, parents of Joseph, a student at Camphill Special School, shares why they choses to participate in #GivingTuesdayCSS:
Our son Joseph just started his first year at Camphill Special School. Joseph is 13 years old and has Fragile X Syndrome. Prior to this he attended the public school system in his younger years. As he grew older, it became obvious to us that he needed a different environment which would provide consistency, structure, daily therapy, and life skills. Camphill Special School provides Joseph a calm environment where anxieties are greatly reduced, and integrates therapy in many activities throughout the day- not just while attending physical, occupational, or speech therapy sessions. The school provides the children the ability to explore with all their senses.
As parents, even in the short period he has attended the school we could not be happier that he is receiving a great education and all of his needs are being met. The entire staff works endlessly and they have such positive attitudes, love, and respect for our children.
