Live-in Volunteers
Live-in Volunteers
Live-in volunteers at The Camphill School are welcomed into homes with community members practicing extended family living. Homes are shared by people from all around the world, of all ages and abilities. Live-in volunteers and Camphill School students alike are integrated into house communities where meals, chores, and downtime are shared, just as they would be in a traditional family setting.
As a live-in volunteer, you will spend your days accompanying children, adolescents, or young adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities through daily activities, including supporting them with personal care routines, communication skills, functional and academic learning, recreational activities, social time, and all aspects of life. At The Camphill School, relationships form the basis of our approach to education and daily living.
If you are interested in trying a different way of living—one that will support you as you grow in empathy and creativity and discovery of new strengths—then this is the right place for you!
The Camphill School makes sure that all Live-in Volunteers’ basic living needs are taken care of. Upon joining our community, you are provided with room and board in one of our on-campus homes, medical insurance, access to a car, and money for incidental costs.
If you are a US Citizen and need help paying off your student debt, The Camphill School offers a College Loan Assistance Program.
If you are interested in pursuing higher education, our school is also a site of the Camphill Academy.
