Kindergarten

Meadowsweet Waldorf® Early Childhood Center at The Camphill School has a home-like classroom for neuro-typical pre-school and kindergarten children. Here, they may grow and unfold at their own pace through play-based education.

Children start their morning with creative play, an integral part of our program. During this time, the children form friendships and learn social skills such as sharing, group work, listening, and communicating with both peers and adults. The children play and work together and help the teachers with simple tasks such as preparing our daily nutritious snacks.

Each day, there is an artistic activity and circle time with movement and singing, usually based on the season or a festival celebration.

We spend time out in nature every day. The children take walks to visit the garden or to our “Story Cottage” to listen to a story in the woods. There are unlimited possibilities for the children to discover in nature and, at the same time, they can begin a lifelong relationship with the natural world.

The morning concludes with an organic homemade lunch and rest time. Afternoon play completes the day.
